What is Viva Magenta?

According to Pantone, Viva Magenta is "a vibrant, attention-getting hue that emanates heat and energy."

This hue is said to be "intriguing and inviting," making it a perfect choice for those who want to make a bold statement.

This color can be found in a variety of places, from fashion and beauty products to home decor.

If you're looking to add a pop of color to your wardrobe, consider investing in a piece of clothing or accessory in this shade.

For your home, try incorporating Viva Magenta into your decor by adding accents like throw pillows or an area rug.

"In this age of technology, we look to draw inspiration from nature and what is real. PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta descends from the red family, and is inspired by the red of cochineal, one of the most precious dyes belonging to the natural dye family as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known."

Viva Magenta gives us the confidence and motivation we need to overcome long-term challenges.

Three years into a pandemic, amidst war, unstable economies, social unrest, and mounting climate change, we need healing.

And yet still, we need to find the motivation to move forward. Here Viva Magenta surrounds us with both power and strength.

How to use Viva Magenta at Home

Vibrant and full of energy, Viva Magenta is the perfect color to inject some life into your home. Designers and homeowners alike can use Viva Magenta in lots of ways.

You can bring it into your space as a velvet couch or feature wall. Or you might opt for a more neutral palette, using it only as one pop of color by using scatter pillows, a throw, or a lamp.

Because it is such a strong color, too much Viva Magenta can be overwhelming. Use it sparingly in small doses to achieve the desired effect.

Here are some tips on how to use this powerful hue to create a space that feels alive and exciting:

1. Start with small accents

A vase, throw pillow, or piece of art are all great ways to introduce Viva Magenta into your décor. A little bit of Viva Magenta goes a long way.

Use it as an accent color on walls, in furniture, or in accessories to add a pop of color without overwhelming the space.

2. Use it as an accent color or focal point

Magenta is the perfect color to use if you want to create a focal point in your design.

Whether you use it as an accent wall color, a dramatic wallpaper, or go all out with a magenta-themed design, this color will definitely get noticed.

Go bold! Don't be afraid to use this color in larger doses for a truly impactful look.

5. Viva Magenta in your bedroom

Start with a blank canvas. Paint your walls in a neutral color like white or cream. This will help create a blank slate that you can then build upon with your Viva Magenta accents.

  • Add splashes of Viva Magenta through bedding and pillows. This is an easy way to incorporate color into your space without going too overboard.
  • Accessorize with Viva Magenta. Add a pop of color to your room with lamps, vases, or other small accessories.
  • Use Viva Magenta as an accent color. If you're not ready to commit to painting an entire wall, try adding stripes or another pattern in Viva Magenta as an accent.
