The '50s Dinner meets High Fashion for the Ultimate Interior Sophistication

We have to confess, we are loving the interior trends for 2019! After years of minimalism and Mid-century Modern aesthetic, recent furniture collections and high-end projects have finally been featuring an abundance of color, curved furniture and decoration for the sake of decoration. The nostalgic mood that drives our search for optimism brought two design jewels of the past together and created interior Populuxe haven we will be talking about today. This year, Art Deco meets Miami Modern and their lovechild seems to be a royal version of the ‘50s dinner look. The golden era of American design is back and the fans of Wes Anderson’s aesthetic couldn’t be happier!

The revival of Art Deco is nothing new, but its exciting mix with the ‘50s shapes and color schemes is what makes this design movement so special.

Clean lines, geometric forms, repetition and luxurious materials of Art Deco left all their seriousness in the past and embraced a colorful, fun, youthful and carefree spirit. The love for the old and the new brings together high fashion and nostalgic mood, where function and shapes go beyond the traditional and develop the most creative solutions for both home and hospitality spaces.

Thanks to the industry advances, great design is now much more affordable for homeowners who feel ready to invest slightly more to be able to enjoy exuberant products in their homes. Golden and brass finishes, velvet, curves and arches become hallmarks of the latest Americana nostalgia while pastels provide its signature happy-go-lucky spirit.

Majestic art deco hotel aesthetic is now emerging in much smaller spaces too, such as coffee shops and private homes. Round mirrors and glass ball lamps are omnipresent, and so are pleated and paneled retro geometrics.

Let’s feast our eyes with some of the most beautiful examples of the frivolous New Americana and enjoy the color maximalism and soft futuristic lines of its designs.

A perfect summer trend with a staying potential, isn’t it?
